Canine Teeth Cleaning
Deluxe Dog Grooming offer a professional canine teeth cleaning service using an Ultrasound Toothbrush with no need for anesthetic.
Dental problems are one of the most common ailments in dogs and studies have shown that 80% of dogs over the age of 3 had some level of dental disease, so regular teeth cleaning is vital to improve and maintain your dog’s oral health.
Bad dental hygiene not only impacts on your dog’s teeth, gums and mouth resulting in bad breath, toothache, gum disease and tooth loss, but bacteria can also enter the bloodstream which can then have implications for the rest of their body including major organs.
Regular brushing, dental chews and specialist foods can all help to keep your dog’s mouth healthy but, just like humans, a regular professional teeth clean is needed to ensure the effective removal of plaque (which can go on to form hard, scaly deposits known as tartar) from your dog’s teeth.
Ultrasound is the most advanced technology for oral hygiene, performing better than manual and electric toothbrushes, and the Ultrasound Toothbrush cleans with oscillations and is non-abrasive, silent, vibration-free, self-sterilising and pain-free. It cleans both the tooth surface and into any gum pockets where bristles cannot reach, making it effective in combatting the root cause of gum inflammation and periodontitis. It softens the calculus on the tooth enamel so that it can then be gently and carefully removed from the tooth surface.
Each dental session lasts approximately 30 minutes. Every dog is unique and although even one session will show improvement on dogs with bad tartar build up, they may need more than one session initially to remove all plaque and tartar. Once all plaque and tartar is removed then a routine session at regular intervals is recommended as a maintenance plan.
Disclaimer: Our service is non-medical and although we generally achieve good results it is not guaranteed as we are dependent on the dog’s behaviour and overall health. If we are unable to perform the teeth cleaning service or are concerned about your dog’s dental health we may refer you to your vet for advice and further treatment.
